The Swift Canoes Prospector 13 solo open canoe is a very traditional canoe. With a rounded chine and bags of tumble home this lightweight solo canoes is a versatile boat with a good weight capacity. It is ideal for paddlers looking to fish or do some photography/videography which extends the canoes versatility even further. The Prospector 13 can be paddled with a single blade canoe paddle or a double blade kayak paddle! A double blade paddle does give you a faster cadence and more speed so is a great option for paddlers looking to either cover more distance.

The Prospector 13 is constructed using Kevlar Fusion which offers their best strength to weight ratio while making the Prospector 13 canoe ultra lightweight at only 11.8 kgs. A urethane resin system which has been designed for top durability as well as longevity, with a thin exterior gel coat layer makes up the basis of Kevlar Fusion. An exterior layer of polyester with S-Glass and kevlar cloth layering sandwiching the foam core ribbed system finishes off the Kevlar Fusions laminate. This laminate fused with high impact, flexible urethane acrylate resin system, which is then injected during a high pressure infusion process produces the optimal dispersion and laminate consistency.

Spec'd with Swift Canoes Carbon Kevlar trim as standard the Prospector 13 is almost effoertless to portage. This trim not only looks fantastic when coupled with the superbly comfortable Cherry wood contoured canoe seat, thwarts & carry handles but is also a key factor in keeping these canoes ultra lightweight. Swift bond the trim and hull by using their unique process to infuse the hull and gunwales as one part, which makes for an ultra lightweight, strong & maintenance free solo open canoe.

Construction

The most popular laminate with Swift Canoes highest strength to weight ratio. Swift Kevlar Fusion canoes are built with a hybrid Epoxy-Vinylester resin system for durability and longevity, and a thin exterior surface coat of UV Shield for a beautiful finish.

The Swift Resin Infusion process produces the highest possible strength to weight ratio and inter-laminate shear strength. The hull is comprised of an exterior layer of Polyester, as well as multiple pieces and layers of Aramid and Kevlar cloth layers sandwiching a durable foam core and rib system.

The Kevlar Fusion laminate is available with multiple vibrant exterior colour cloth finishes as well as several specialty cloth finishes.

Swift Canoes unique process enables them to infuse the canoe hull and gunwales as one part by creating a bond between the hull and trim. Lightweight, stunning and maintenance free.
