Canoe Paddle Size Guide
Canoe paddle sizing is generally based on a paddler's torso length and which position they are paddling from in the canoe. Bow paddlers generally use shorter strokes, and find shorter paddles easier to work with. Stern paddlers and solo boaters need a slightly longer paddle to assist in controlling the direction of the canoe. A general guideline for paddle sizing for a bow person is a paddle that measures from the floor up to the middle of their chest. Stern and solo paddlers will find a paddle that stands up to their collarbone are generally a better fit. If you just need an all-round paddle for use by multiple people, choose a 145cm or 150cm / 57in or 60in size as this will suit most people for general paddling.
Entry-Level Canoe Paddles
These canoe paddles offer excellent durability and value for money. The blades are made from tough plastic with durable alloy or fibreglass shafts. Alloy-shaft canoe paddles are most durable making them a great choice for general recreational use, club paddlers and trade customers. Fibreglass-shaft canoe paddles provide a warmer grip and more flex in the shaft for extra comfort when used over longer paddling trips.
