Lightweight high-performing sea kayaks

Designed to excel in lively seas, surf and wind but also great to paddle on glassy calm waters, the elegant Delta 16 offers a balanced combination of manoeuvrability and excellent tracking. This is a kayak designed to inspire confidence and keep you on course whatever the conditions. The 16 foot length has sufficient waterline to provide a quick and efficient pace while still being agile and responsive carving turns with a precise feel and easy release. The bulkhead storage areas provide enough capacity for multi-day exploration and it will perform well whether loaded or travelling light.

Featuring the Delta Kayaks Press-Lock Hatch System with a low profile front day hatch and larger bow and stern hatches too. The bow and stern Paddle-Parks are handy to quickly stow your paddle when needed and Delta’s multi-position padded Contour Seat System can be adjusted to provide great connectivity and day long comfort.  The spring loaded skeg system is simple to deploy and features a kink-free operation. The skeg line is housed in a tube and tucked away under-deck so it reduces the chance of snagging when loading and unloading gear. The skeg can be deployed at different increments so the paddler can determine the amount of aid in tracking needed.

The attention to detail by Delta Kayaks is impressive, you will appreciate how well thought out the design is. For example behind the cockpit rim there is a doubled deck line section either side with scalloped recesses below to make it easier to set up for a paddle-float re-entry. Close to the bow the short double bungee across the deck is raised making it easy to push a blade tip under and park your paddle while snacking, checking your course, taking photos etc. The same approach on the rear deck is useful for taking a spare set of paddles along.

If you are looking to progress your skills the Delta 16 will give you confidence to develop towards a fairly advanced level. If you are already well experienced and are looking for a lightweight kayak that is at home on a wide range of waters you won't be disappointed with this one.

Advanced Thermoform Construction

Layered thermoformed construction for durability and strength

Delta Kayaks are made using a proprietary blend of thermoplastic materials. An ABS base layer (1) provides superior impact-resistance and rigidity, while the Solarkote exterior surface (2) contributes outstanding abrasion and UV resistance for a smooth, bright finish and vibrant, lasting colours. Thanks to Delta's advanced thermoform construction, Delta kayaks are not just tough and good-looking — they’re also among the lightest on the market.
