Cockpit Cover Kits for Gumotex Seawave

Removable 1 and 2 person cockpit kits that cover the deck of the Gumotex Seawave to protect the paddler from spray and make it more streamlined. The cockpit covers easily Velcro onto the Seawave. They are available as a cover only or a complete cover kit with metal reinforcements that help hold the shape of the cover above the paddler's legs and increase it's overall stiffness.

Using the Seawave as a solo or tandem kayak with the cover in place provides plenty of protected storage space if you want to head off for a day or even a week of camping. You will find that when paddling the kayak with the cover in place performance is much improved when paddling in harsher conditions.  As well as shedding water to provide protection from spray, rain snow etc. the cover also streamlines the profile reducing windage significantly. 

The cover has on-deck storage within easy reach in front of the cockpit/s and further storage on the rear in the form of criss-cross bungee lines. The covers are easy to fit and remove - first inflate the kayak then fold back the cover on the Velcro strips along the edged of the kayak. Carefully align then secure the cover using the velcro along its edge then fold the velcro cover strip over the top and you will have a secure and waterproof seal.

There is a strengthener around the cockpit openings which holds their shape and enables the use of a sprayskirt to complete the weather proofing if needed. 

Add the optional Rudder kit and you have a very capable expedition kayak that you can fold down and store inside a car!
