The Mini X offers stability and manoeuvrability in our smallest Malibu package, loaded with 4 rod holders, a bow hatch and centre hatch. The rear deck will take a 5 gallon bucket and additional optional round hatch can be fitted. As a paddling platform the Mini X is as stable as they come and we have customers who fish, bird watch and take stunning on water photographs from their Mini X. Leave the rods off the boat and it's a great sit on top kayak for touring and beach play. The hull is very rigid with a defined bow and stern, flared bows and further strengthened with tracking channels. Being only 9'3" (2.7m) long storing the Mini X is easy, car topping is easy and the Mini X is stackable. The Mini X is the widest Malibu with volume distributed to the sides of the paddler, this is where the stability comes from. If you need more forward speed then you need to buy a longer kayak than the Mini X. If you need stability, manoeuvrability and a functional compact fishing yak then you need the Mini X Fishing.
Remember this Malibu Kayak is not just for fishing, the kids can play with it, as if was a floating pontoon, Mum can play and explore and dad can get away and go fishing with the Mini X as well. Add Leg straps and padded seat/backrest and you've got hours & years of fun & adventure ahead of you and the family.
The 'Rec' spec comes with two rod holders and the Centre Rectangle Hatch only.
