Inshore Sea Fishing off Ireland

Good fishing can be had without hours spent steaming to some offshore wreck or reef. The inshore fishing off Beara is popular with light line enthusiast and a 10lb+ Pollock on 10lb main line in 50 foot of water is some fight. Fishing within 2 miles of the Beara coast often produces Ling, Pollock and Cod to double figures, Conger to 50lb along with good Thornback and Blonde ray. Fishing around Bear Island and in Bantry Bay has produced just about every species going so add the Flatties, Wrasse, Trigger fish, Bass, LSD's, Bull Huss and more the inshore fishing has a lot to offer. The real bonus of inshore fishing is you can return "alive" those fish you don't want to keep for the table.
